How do I know my browser is safe and secure?

The most commonly-used browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer) all support secure sockets. You'll know for certain that you have moved to a secure section of the site because the "location" or "url" at the top of the page will begin with "https" rather than "http"("s" stands for "secure"). To convey that you are on a secure page, most browsers use a padlock icon at the URL line.
